Top This Top That: Fall Burlap Wreath...Giveaway

Top This Top That: Fall Burlap Wreath…Giveaway   My birthday is October 30, 1941. Fall was always a special time for me because my mother always had a birthday party for me. As I grew I continued this tradition throughout my highschool years.  The inviting was for girls to begin with then boys were added in my 5th birthday because I met so many new friends in school.  We always had a Halloween party with costumes that were homemade. We always had great fun bobbing for apples and playing spin the bottle and dropping clothes pins into the neck of an empty bottle of milk.  Of course, the leaves were beautiful and back then we would burn them in the street.  We always had good things to eat.  Now that I am older when people ask when my birthday is I tell them  "I came before the witch"  Then they get a weird face and start guessing what I mean by that.  It gets to be a crazy conversation almost every time.  Fall is just special for me.  I have many good memories from 5 years old up till this year when I will be 73.  Egads what happened.  I guess time has flown.  My three children have enjoyed this time of the year. I made their costumes too.  One year I made costumes for them as Raggedy Ann and Andy.  I made the wigs out of red yarn and yellow yarn.  The first Halloween my children wore the costumes, my son who was about 4 came home covered with mud. It started raining and he slipped into a patch of mud.  We took pictures and had many laughs about this for years to come. I passed these costumes on to my children and they in turn had their children wear them.  It amazes me how the costumes have worn. I still have them packed away, ready for my great grand children.  I only hope I live long enough to see this.   Here's hoping.  Happy Halloween to al everybody who reads this.  Most sincerely, Geri
